Learn skills and gain confidence to assist friends, family and co-workers experiencing mental health issues.

• Mental health first aid provides assistance for an emerging illness, known mental illness, or with a crisis.
• Learn to recognise the signs & symptoms, how to talk to a person experiencing a worsening mental health problem, or in a mental health crisis and where to refer them.
• The first aid is given until the appropriate professional help is received, or the crisis resolves.

ADDITIONAL COURSE INFORMATION:

12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid (SMHFA) course.

Course topics cover: prevalence of mental health problems, depression, anxiety, psychosis and substance use issues, suicide, panic attacks and other mental health crises.

Participants receive a copy of the Standard MHFA manual.

Participants are eligible to become an accredited Mental Health First
aider and eligible for CBD points once the 12 hours is completed.
