Dharma for Kids

"I have enjoyed the art activities, and the stories that teach us about peace and kindness. I enjoy being social and meeting some of the new kids that come to the sessions and also the games where we can get physical and move around!"
Fiona, Age 10

DATE 1st Saturday of each month
TIME 3:00 – 4:00pm
Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the session

The Dharma For Kids program aims to help children aged between 4 and 12 years develop universal ethics for living a happy life.

We start with a mindfulness meditation followed by a story about topics such as kindness, generosity and honesty, and we share ideas and experiences. The children learn skills to calm disturbing emotions and how to protect their actions of body, speech and mind from harming others. Activities that encourage a caring attitude and mindfulness include stories, meditation, children’s yoga and role play.

Yoga, and activities such as tsa tsa painting and making malas have been popular, along with releasing crickets and worms in the garden. Many thanks to the parents and children who contribute to the class, making it so much fun.

Dharma for Kids is facilitated by senior student Sascha Holyoak. For enquiries, please contact the centre.

Suggested donation: $5
