A calm mind brings inner strength and self-confidence, so that’s very important for good health.
HIS HOLINESS the

More and more, the positive effects of meditation on the mind and body are being documented by scientists. Meditation has been proven to help reduce stress and anxiety, and can help practitioners develop a profound sense of calm and inner peace. In today’s fast-paced world, taking “time out” for personal well-being has never been more important.

Our Approach to Meditation

We teach (and practice) authentic meditation techniques from the tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, a lineage originating from the Buddha himself more than 2,500 years ago. However, you don’t need to be a Buddhist to enjoy the benefits of a practice that has been developed over thousands of years. All religions, denominations and levels of ability are welcome at our centre.

Meditation classes are held in the “gompa” (meditation hall) at Buddha House, a profoundly peaceful, comfortable and inspiring space filled with beautiful and authentic Buddhist art.

About the Classes

All classes are led by experienced instructors who have been practicing for many years, and have personally felt the benefits of meditation in their own lives. All instructors are unpaid volunteers, who are motivated by a desire to share with others the benefits that meditation has brought them.

We believe that everyone should be able to enjoy the practical benefits – freedom, calm and inner peace – that arise from cultivating a meditation practice. As such, all in-person sessions at Buddha House are offered for a small donation. All online sessions (streamed live, via Facebook) are free.
