Shamatha Meditation Retreat with Venerable Tenzin Tsapel

This calm abiding retreat will explore the development of single-pointed concentration utilising three main objects:
- The breath as it relates to the tactile field, the body
- Resting the mind in its natural state, observing mental events, including feelings and other events
- Awareness of awareness
Ven. Tsapel will give explanations of the technique, lead us in meditation and allow plenty of opportunity for Q & A.
Please note that there is no option to do only part of the retreat.

About Venerable Tenzin Tsapel
In 1979 Ven Tsapel attended her first Lam Rim course with Lama Zopa, followed by Refuge and Bodhisattva vows with Lama Yeshe and she travelled to India to take ordination from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. In 1991 she joined the Chenrezig Nuns Community, managed building projects and helped establish the FPMT Study Programme there. She took up the position of resident teacher at Chandrakirti Centre, New Zealand and after a two-year solitary retreat, became the resident teacher at the Golden Light Sutra Centre in Darken, Mongolia. In 2018 she moved to Atisha Centre/The Great Stupa where her primary focus is the Machig Labdron Nunnery building project.
