Coronavirus Precautions

A Message from Director Lyndy Abram on Coronavirus

We are all facing an immediate and serious threat of the COVID-19 virus. Here at Buddha House, we aim to look after your well-being on all levels. This includes taking all physical precautions seriously, as well as informing every one of the spiritual practices recommended by Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

It is important we remove any physical conditions for the
virus to spread.

  • No hugging or kissing…No personal contact.
  • Prayer hands when greeting each other.
  • Stay home if feeling unwell.
  • Wash hands regularly with soap.
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow.
  • Stay home if you are returning from overseas and feel unwell, or are from an at-risk country.
  • Take the time to fill in the new sign-in sheet at reception with either your phone number or email address. This is so we can contact you if we find out someone from class has been diagnosed with the virus. (please sign with your own pen)
  • Wash hands often with soap and water, hand sanitizer is available at reception.

Refreshments and Catering at Buddha House

All used cups, glasses and teaspoons can be left in the tray in the lounge. A volunteer will put them through the commercial dishwasher. Please do not wash your dishes. Teaspoons are not to be shared

From Monday 16th March there will be no shared lunches where students bring food from home to share. Our trained kitchen volunteers will be cooking and serving all those who attend all day teaching and retreat events at Buddha House.

 Advice from Lama Zopa Rinpoche

Rinpoche has given advice and additional advice on practices to be done to protect from the coronavirus.

Thank you so much, everyone, for your understanding and your support as we continue to strive to offer the Dharma to everyone, either at Buddha House or in your own home during these uncertain times.

Lyndy Abram.
