Buddha House is affiliated with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition Inc (FPMT), founded by Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche.
The FPMT is an organisation devoted to preserving and spreading Mahayana Buddhism worldwide. It creates opportunities to listen, reflect, meditate, practise and actualise the unmistaken teachings of the Buddha and, based on that experience, to spread the Dharma to sentient beings.
“The Buddha’s Revolution”
This is a beautiful 7 minute FPMT documentary entitled “The Buddha’s Revolution” which introduces the story of the FPMT, and features the founders Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche as well as His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama and many others.
It’s a wonderful introduction to Buddhism for new students and is inspiring for older students as well. Click the image of Lama Zopa below.
Buddha House provides various courses and teachings for new students, including Introduction to Buddhism, Buddhism In A Nutshell and Meditation 101. These courses are conducted throughout the year; please refer to the calendar for details.
Our Sunday Talks session with Geshe Kyab is also an ideal opportunity to learn more about Buddhism. These are held on various Sundays throughout the year from 11:00am to 12:30pm followed by a shared lunch, which is a great time to meet new people. Details are published in our eNews and on the front page of this website.
Often students find a good starting point is with our MEDITATIONS, and we also offer the Meditation 101 course. Alternatively, come along to any of the teachings or events – refer to the CALENDAR for details – and meet other students of Buddha House.
Another good way to keep informed is to subscribe to our weekly eNews which is emailed each Wednesday and contains full details of the forthcoming week’s activities at Buddha House.
