The Lam Rim (the great treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment) by Lama Je Tsong Kharpa (1357-1419), is one of the most renowned Tibetan Buddhist texts.
The teaching is presented in the form of a step by step training for students to follow. This text is presented annually at the November Kopan course in Nepal and a short version at the 10 day retreat at De Tong Ling Retreat Centre, Kangaroo Island, every October.
The Lam Rim takes many, many months to cover and it is suitable for students to join at any time and at any level.
Realisations of the Path come from study, reflection and meditation on the teachings and a student cannot hear these teachings too many times. Even our teachers, the Dalai Lama and Lama Zopa Rinpoche regularly attend teachings giving us showing us that study is a most skilful way to help our minds open and our practice to grow towards Enlightenment.
